‘People’ initially was going to be part of Weder’s debut album OPW but didn’t find a spot in the final running order. After the Canadian record label Moderna Records reached out for Weder to be part of their Summer Single Series 2020, he thought this to be the perfect home for ‘People’ and it was released among other tracks by artists on their roster.
Like the other tracks on OPW, it features a string quartet from the London Contemporary Orchestra, prepared and arpeggiated piano layers as accompaniment and his trademark affected Wurlitzer Electric Piano carries a gentle main melody. Reflecting his lifestyle, ‘People’ was recorded between London, Amsterdam and Madrid.
